“Those who plant in tears will reap a harvest of joy.” — Psalm 126:5
Some of the most watery seasons of my life ended up becoming the most flourishing ones—like a spiritual rainforest growing beneath the surface.
The hardest seasons were often the ones where I felt closest to God, where wisdom deepened, courage strengthened, and faith took root in ways comfort never could.
It’s easy to grow comfortable in routine—our rhythms, our community, even our time with God. But sometimes God allows challenges not to weaken us, but to remind us where our strength truly comes from. A strength that brings unexplainable joy. A peace that lets you fall asleep even when life feels like a hurricane.
Scripture tells us God collects our tears. He doesn’t waste them. He plants them.
Those tears enrich the soil, grow deep roots, and eventually bloom into breakthrough—spiritually, mentally, emotionally. What once felt like pain becomes sacred joy that keeps pushing us forward.
Looking back, I don’t always understand how I made it through certain seasons—but I know this: it was never by my own strength.
All glory to God.
If you’re in a hard season right now, don’t rush it.
What feels like tears today may be the very seeds of joy God is growing for tomorrow.
